First, we'll take a look at your machine, its functions and important operations; how to thread it, threading a bobbin and sewing a stitch etc.
We'll dive into pattern reading. I'll walk you through how to read a more traditional pattern that you'd pick up at the fabric store as well as the more commonly used method of pattern reading today, blog patterns, which is what we'll use to complete our project. I'll also talk briefly on creating your own patterns using existing pieces of clothing.
We'll discuss sewing terms and all the necessary tools to have in your sewing kit.
And then we'll get sewing! You will be taking home a striped linen cross back apron with front pocket, sewn and serged by you! (shown in top picture)
We'll go over all my favorite resources for fabric and online patterns and you'll take home a small sewing kit including my favorite snipping scissors.
light refreshments also provided.
